Duties generally performed by the Purchasing Manager include but are not limited to:
Ordering raw and printed material.
Ordering blank components
Place purchase orders.
Bargain prices to reduce cost.
Keep track of and order inventory for a pharmaceutical company
Use emails and internet as a source to find alternative supplies.
Follow up with vendors and suppliers/ track orders.
Once the order arrives, double check that it meets the standards.(KPIs)
Use Chemical sourcing websites/portal.
Requirements:
Read and Speak English
Must be able to do basic math.
College degree plus experience in Purchasing in the pharmaceutical industry needed.
Must be able to take directions and work well with others.
Must be reliable and prompt.
Must be professional and friendly.
Must be patient and willing to help other employees.
Must be able to use a computer (Microsoft Word and Excel is a must).
Must be able to handle stress of meeting deadlines and multi-task.
Communicate/negotiate with suppliers and vendors on the phone in a very professional manner.
Light proofreading experience a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
